10th Anniversary Celebration Concert
SOLD OUT
Everest Rising will be performing from 7-9pm on Saturday, November 5th, at the historic Grooms Tavern in Rexford, NY. Join us for a full evening of music and reflection as we belatedly celebrate our 10th Anniversary as Everest Rising!
Everest Rising has actually been together for just over 12 years now, but we were unable to properly celebrate our 10th anniversary due to the pandemic. Hey, but who’s counting? As author Tom Robbins once noted, “It’s never too late to have a happy childhood.” We decided it’s high time to celebrate!
Several of us have actually been playing and performing together for quite a bit longer, stemming back to our Riverview Ramblers days. Dale joined the Ramblers in about September 2004, and Pete hitched his wagon to our post sometime between January and May 2005. Trevor joined in winter/spring of 2009. Everest Rising emerged soon thereafter, and our unofficial first gig as Everest Rising was on June 9th, 2010 at Moon & River Cafe in Schenectady’s stockade district. We had discovered a personal and creative musical chemistry leading to a uniquely original sound. Long-time friend and musical colleague Mark Baptiste joined us just this year, rounding out our sound with his powerful harmony vocal and mandolin.
Grooms Tavern is a small, intimate venue with limited seating. Tickets are $10 each* and must be purchased in advance.

Everest Rising
Located in New York’s Capital Region, Everest Rising is a tightly-knit quintet influenced by bluegrass, Americana, rock, jazz and more. Together they create progressive acoustic music that is unique, powerful, and comfortably familiar. With a wide dynamic range, Everest Rising’s material spans from heartfelt laments to all out jams, all executed with instrumental finesse and thoughtful story-telling.
About the Venue
Grooms Tavern is a historic tavern located at Grooms Corners in Rexford, Saratoga County, New York.
The complex consists of the tavern, a wagon and blacksmith shop, and a frame privy. The tavern building was built about 1825 and is a 2-story, timber-framed, gable-roofed building in a vernacular Federal style. It consists of a main block with 1+1⁄2-story, frame kitchen wing in the rear. When expanded to two stories in the 1840s, a Greek Revival style cornice was added. The building was partially remodeled in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The tavern building was also operated as a general store. The wagon and blacksmith shop was constructed in the 1840s and is a 2-story, rectangular, timber-framed building with a gable roof in the Greek Revival style. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000. A fascinating history of the tavern complex can be found here: https://groomstavern.com/elementor-79/
